For the year under review, Supermax continued to refine our brand image, by fortifying our product quality as well as injecting Supermax’s dynamic marketing, sales and promotion with
a burst of fresh energy and creativity that ultimately seek to reinforce and strengthen our position further at the forefront of glove industry.

Although year 2005 was a challenging year for Supermax, we have managed to emerge with our brand strategy stronger and have provided better business stability for the future of Supermax. For the year under review, Supermax recorded a recommended growth in turnover. Supermax’s revenue grew by 33% to RM 289 Million as compared to RM218 Million in year 2004.




OPERATIONAL REVIEW

Since the incorporation of Supermax in 1987, we have been committed to building its own brand in the global market. Hence, it is natural that we leverage on this foundation as we continue in our quest to take Supermax to the next level of achievement.

As with any business cycle, Supermax has seen both trials and successes over the years and this has propelled our evolution towards taking the leading position globally. Our focus and long term strategic planning have made us a leading world class glove manufacturer.

On this score, as reflected in our encouraging financial performance for financial year ended 31 December 2005, which chartered an impressive 20% increase in pre – tax profit compared to the previous financial year, our long term approach to growth has indeed produced sustained results for our shareholders.



CORPORATE STRATEGY

Together, we will strive for sustainable, capital efficient and profitable growth and will take all the necessary measures and steps to ensure that Supermax’s progress remains on track.
We have set high standards of professional conduct in all our dealings. As a Group, we will strive to exceed expectations through a commitment to provide consistency in quality and continuous process improvement on our products and services.

a) Expansion in capacity
The increase in global demand for gloves continue to surge due to greater awareness in health standards among global consumers and also the increase in the need for gloves arising from unexpected natural disaster.

Capital investment was well planned, monitored and controlled to support operational needs, limiting to the necessary such as increased manufacturing capacity to meet higher market demand which is in line with our long term strategic plan.

Year 2005 marked two significant milestones as Supermax has taken a different route in the expansion of its production platform. It acquired stakes in APL Industries Berhad and Seal Polymer Industries Berhad and took over the management of the above two listed companies.

b) Managing Human Capital
As Supermax continues to expand its business influence globally, it is vital that we have the human capital to support this growth. We believe that our staff are the most important asset to the company. In view of this, Supermax commits extensively; in cash and in kind, to manpower development at all levels of the organization, to train and equip our workforce with the relevant skills required to carry out their duties and responsibilities professionally and ethically at all times.
